My favorite snack

This is one of my favorite lunch time snacks--thanks to my dad. He used to pull out the crackers, cheese, ham, and pickles on Saturday afternoons when we had done some house cleaning and needed a break for food. There was usually some kind of Saturday mid-day TV movie on and we'd sit around to watch it while we ate. I like having this snack now while I'm working on homework... So off I go back to homework land!

Just remember: it HAS to be Farman's Cucumber Chips. Nothing else in the pickle department will do. And the Costco "Coastal" aged, white cheddar cheese we recently discovered is soooo good in place of regular cheddar. Yep, we're still makin' that for a snack and Dad's still checkin' out the Saturday mid-day movies, though they're usually dumb. So, when the snack is gone so is the movie. : )

Well, I got it from MY dad. We'd sometimes have a special dinner that consisted of Ritz crackers, cheese, onions, anchovies, kipper snacks, smoked oysters, olives, sausage, and tomato juice with Worcestershire sauce. Those were the days!

That looks pretty good actually. For a few weeks while I was pregnant with Lindey, I had a craving for ham cheese and pickle quesadilla's, fried in a pan. Sounds a little weird, but I loved them!! :)

yum! I like those too! You'll have to have some here with our homemade pickels.
